Kobay: Kobay Tool & Stampings was started in 1987 by Kaz Kobayashi. Mr. Kobayashi, a tool & die maker from Japan, worked on the first Honda car built in Japan. Over the years he built a successful die manufacturing, stamping, and welding operation servicing all five of the new domestic, Tier 1 suppliers into Honda Manufacturing.
Enstel: Enstel Manufacturing was founded in 1996 to provide a reliable source of quality deep-drawn metal core caps to run on high-speed printing presses in the paper industry. In June of 1998 Enstel purchased a 600 ton progressive die stamping press and began their foray into the automotive stamping and sub assembly market. By 2005 Enstel had built a successful business producing complex progressive die stampings and welded sub assemblies.
In July 2006 Enstel purchased Kobay Tool and Stampings and merged the Enstel family into the Kobay facility. This also involved upgrading the Kobay facility, purchasing of new presses and the reengineering a one piece, lean process flow in the plant. This 122,000 sq. ft. facility now houses 25 presses, and over 30 mig assembly cells and resistance welders.
Mr. Kobayashi has stayed on as an integral part of the management team, and is an active senior advisor in the business. Today, over 70% of the products we produce are manufactured for Honda.
We are an innovative, low cost, manufacturer headed by a team of experienced automotive industry experts.
